Skating Pictures

We went to a surprise party for Pastor Brian at the Roller Rink.  It was fun (I think he was actually surprised ... HA) .... here are some pictures of skating, some are dark, but if you squint you can make it out!

Elliot had fun until he fell - then he didn't want to do it again
Emily had a blast - once she got the hang of it, she didn't want to get off the floor!
Caitlyn had as much fun as Emily

Poor Elliot

Busy weekend!

The kids had both sets of grandparents visting this weekend and loved every minute of it!  They are SO very lucky to have both sets of grandparents within driving distance!!

Emily's class at Lakeline sang a few songs in service on Sunday and were just precious!

Emily and Elliot also opened some presents from Me Me and Paw Paw.

Elliot opened a John Deere Mini Loader  that he's going to love when he figures out he can peddle.  He and Emily are still playing in the box - HA!
His favorite present was his new Thomas the Train Book (what is it about Thomas that draws in little boys??)
Emily opened a bag of rocks (she loves rocks), a Walter the Farting Dog book (she's still laughing about it) and her very own laptop.
Yes, we've decided Paw Paw can not go shopping alone next year - HAHAHA
We give him a hard time, but the laptop is really the perfect size for Emily (8" screen) and will keep her from asking us to use ours every 5 minutes - HA!

I wish I would have taken a picture of her expression when she realized what was in the box, it was priceless!

I added new pictures to the December Snapfish folder.

Emily has her Christmas party this week and will be out of school starting next week .... and wow, is Christmas REALLY next Thursday? ... double wow!  I feel like we still have a million things to do!

That's it - I am investing in a flip video (or something like it!) after Christmas....

I am mad at our video camera --- tonight I would have caught the cutest brother/sister moment EVER if I knew how to turn the night vision off the camera ... note to parents keep camera equipment away from small children or they will push buttons that you won't be able to turn off ...
Emily was "teaching" Elliot how to do the motions for Away in a Manger and he was following right along.  It was SO super duper cute!  As soon as I figured out the camera issue (siiigh) they started acting goofy instead of sweet ... oh well, next time (maybe!)

Random December pictures

Elliot LOVES trains!
We finally took down the electric train for him

We need more track, but it still works after all these years (wow, it's 53 years old!)

Emily modeling her new purse - thanks Celena!

Cedar Park Tree lighting

Emma and Emily
Emma won 2nd place in an art contest and received a certificate right before the tree lighting!

Cute boy at the tree lighting
All bundled up and ready to go!

Emily's first trip to the dentist!

It has been a busy day! After school today Emily had her first dentist appointment. Her dentist Dr. Fair looks 12 and made me feel old but Emily did GREAT and she is cavity free (phew!)

She has a cross-bite and will need a special retainer in the next year or so, but other than that ... all is good!

After her dentist appointment Emily got a hair cut and we went to eat at Chickfila ... very busy day!

Elliot now has tubes in his ears!

It's official - Elliot has tubes in his ears. The doctor said he had nasty fluid in his right ear (she suctioned it out) and a bit in the left as well.
Wayne and Elliot were at the hospital by 6am and Elliot went back at 8am. At 8:30am the doctor came to tell us everything went great and we had Elliot back before 9am.
He's been acting like a goof-ball all day - we are wondering if he feels tons better already!

Cat's get breast cancer too ... who knew?

UGH - Vivian has a lump on her chest and we took her to see Dr Treadway a few weeks ago.
We were all hoping it was just a weird infection and she'd be back to normal after a bit of antibiotics.
After 3 weeks of Clavamox the lump was smaller, but still there (and hard).

We ran a few more tests and found out has a malignant carcinoma in her mammary gland. Basically, she has breast cancer... UGH ... all the research I've seen so far says this is not a good thing.

Update - the Ultrasound shows everything else is clear.  She is scheduled for surgery on Monday December 1st.

Sizes

I talked to Mom this weekend and she suggested we get to work on a Christmas Wish List for the kiddos, so I will work on that soon - I promise.

Emily
She LOVES dresses, skirts, and "girlie" clothes.
Dresses and skirts need to have those built in shorts because while she LOVES girlie clothes, but she hasn't learned to be lady-like!
I noticed recently she doesn't have many pants.  She has tons of capris and shorts, but many pants.
Her PJs are getting a tad snug

She's mainly in size 6
Shoes she's a size 12 or 13

Elliot
He's in REALLY good shape with clothes thanks to Kendall, JT and Zach!
He could use some new footy PJs, but he doesn't like the really thick ones.

He could use some winter-y type shirts.
He's mainly in 2T
Shoes 6W or 6 1/2 normal

Wayne
XL shirts
34W 36L pants

Rachel
No way, not doing it!
I COULD use some new clothes, but not enough to admit my sizes for everyone to see!  I will tell you if you ask!

I don't have much to report, so I thought I'd just put up a few pictures

Elliot showing off his horse slippers
relaxing, watching Imagination Movers
Aww, big hugs from sister

Why oh Why didn't anyone warn me?

I think I am mad at everyone who has a boy older than Elliot!

You didn't tell me how filthy boys are ... HA!  How dirt just JUMPS on them ... no matter WHAT they are doing.  I am convinced Elliot is only clean when he is in the bathtub!

We went from Emily who refused to get dirty at this age - to Elliot who is filthy from the time he wakes up until he goes to bed!

So, to all of you with boys YOUNGER than Elliot, here is your warning!

Elliot playing in dirty water outside
Why yes, they DO melt in your hands, and on your face, and in your hair
Maybe one day food will get into his mouth?
After M&Ms melt in your hands, they get on the chair ..
Nice, left over food from dinner

Random weekend pictures

brush brush brush
awwwwww (they are so weird)

these are his favorite shoes (best $5 purchase so far!)
sweet kiddos

where DID my baby go??

First hair cut ... sniff sniff

I originally thought we'd wait until Elliot turned two to cut off his cute cute curls.
WELL, those cute curls started looking a little ratty and we decided after Halloween (we needed the curls for Tweedle Dee and Dum) we'd get his hair cut.

On Saturday we went to Cool Cuts for Kids ... the lady cutting his hair must have asked me three times if I really was ready to cut off his curls and I told her yes .. REALLY. I guess I looked like I was about to cry - HA!
He did GREAT (M&Ms kept him quiet the entire cut!) and he looks just precious, but WAAAY too much like a big boy!

After Elliot was finished we took Emily over to Cost Cutters for a much needed trim as well. The gal added a few more layers and she looks adorable.

Halloween

We love Halloween ... it's one of our favorite times of year. The kids had a GREAT time.

This year the kids did an Alice in Wonderland theme. Emily was Alice. Caitlyn and Elliot were Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. They were all so so adorable!

Angala, Keith and the girls came over for Halloween fun as well. We had pizza, beer and lots of candy. Emily went Trick or Treating with the Horner's while I took Elliot around with the McLarty's ... Wayne stayed back to pass out candy.

Caitlyn was soooo funny. She'd walk right up to the door and knock. Put her bag out and say "trick treat". After she got her candy, she'd always reach for one or two more pieces. Since she was sooo cute, she'd always get more- HA!

Such a fun fun night!
