Kids say the sillest things ....

So, I lost my voice and don't feel all that great .... I think it's just my allergies acting up, but who knows for sure ... all I know is I sound like an 80 year old woman who's been smoking for 75 years ... nice huh?

During dinner I was trying to talk to Emily and she said "Mom, you've lost it" .... I THINK she was talking about my voice .... but now that I am typing, maybe not!

Wayne's Father's Day present

After our Grand Canyon Trip we were looking at pictures and had a cool one of Emily walking up the dunes in White Sands. You can see her footprints as she makes it up the dune. Wayne looked at it and said "this would look cool with the poem Footprints on it" ... and I filed it away for the future ... HA

I had some talented friends (thanks Sara, Christy and Trina) help me figure out how to do it ... and had it framed for him for Father's Day.

It turned out really nice!

Happy Birthday Eddie (only a day late!)!

We spent our weekend in San Antionio for Eddie's Birthday which fell on Father's Day this year!

We first met everyone at the Blanco Lavender Festival. It was a cute little festival, but DANG it was sooooo hot!

The next day Traci, John and John's parents came over for a fun Birthday/Father's Day party.

The kids had fun too - Emily went on a bike ride with Nana and Grandfather Sunday morning and Elliot rode his little buggy all through their house - HA!

On the way home, our van said it was 103 - in JUNE - man, what kinda heat are we in for this summer?? I'm scared!

Happy Father's Day!

Pre-K Graduation!

Emily is an official Pre-K graduate!
I guess now we have to let her go to Kinder don't we?

The ceremony was super cute. All the kiddos received diplomas and they wore these cute little graduation caps. Then they sang a little song.
As soon as Wayne downloads the video, I'll add it here!
I'm proud of myself, I didn't cry ... I thought I would, but I didn't! I am practicing for the first day of Kinder when I CAN'T cry in front of her!

She attended Pre-K at Good Shepherd Lutheran in Cedar Park and really learned a lot this year!

Wayne's basketball injury ...

Wayne joined up with some guys from church to play basketball on Sunday evenings. He said it was a GREAT time, BUT he jammed his finger pretty hard while he was playing the first game. He didn't think much about it and played three more games after he banged his finger - HA

When he came home he put it in ice and it really didn't look all that bad (it was swollen, but not horrible). So we decided he wouldn't go to the ER because we were sure the swelling would go down a little this morning. Plus I didn't want them to cut off his wedding ring (yes, the finger he jammed is his ring finger!) ... well, this morning it was worse and purple and nasty .... sooo he went to his doctor and they had to cut the ring off anyway ... siiiigh!

I called Emily to tell on him (HAHA) and all she wanted to know was how they got the ring off!

I guess we'll be on the hunt for a new wedding ring when the swelling goes down! He does have to go back to the doctor on Monday and might need a cast (let's hope not because I really don't want to get in the water for Elliot's swim lessons this session!)

*Update from 6/10 - well, his doctor called and his finger is fractured - he'll go in Monday to see if he'll need a cast or not ...

*New Update - well, he didn't need a cast, they just splinted (is that a word?) it again ... AND exciting news, we found a jeweler who thinks he can fix it for less than $200!!

Emily hanging in Winnie

MeMe and Franny came up for Emily's Pre-K graduation then took her back to Winnie for a visit!

She's been having a great time swimming, playing with the cows, picking veggies, selling veggies at a farmer's market, playing the Wii, torturing mom and dad's cat Brianna, being sassy, visiting with everyone in Winnie, driving the tractor, going to the field with PawPaw, playing with frogs, lizards and alligators ... oh and swimming ... HA!

Elliot and Wayne are going to pick Emily up at the Bluebell Factory in Brenham tomorrow!
