Silent Auction gone wrong ...

Well, this weekend was Emily's school festival and we made the mistake of taking her with us to the silent auction area. The basket she HAD to have was a tub filled with princess stuff. We decided to humor her and bid on it ONCE thinking someone would outbid us by the end of the festival. Did they? Noooo! OOOOH well! At least it was for a good cause - HA!
I just hope she doesn't realize we took a few of the goodies out of the tub for Christmas and Birthday presents!

Sit N Spinning

Emily was showing Elliot how to use the Sit N Spin last night.
She loves to try to go "faster" everytime she spins!

Emily's pumpkin creation!

At our visit to the pumpkin patch Emily picked out a few pumpkins to paint.

Here she is hard at work!
Finished Pumpkin ... isn't he cute?

Cul-de-sac fun!

Trina brought Caitlyn over so she could run in the cul-de-sac!
It's so funny how different Elliot and Caitlyn are.
Caitlyn is ready to RUN and Elliot is content to sit back and take it all in.
They crack us up constantly!

Nana and Grandfather visit!

Emily and Elliot had a great time visiting with Nana and Grandfather last weekend!
Here are some fun pictures from their visit.

Pumpkin Patch Time!

The weather has been wonderful, so Friday afternoon we visited one of the local pumpkin patches.

Emily was in one of her famous "I don't want my picture taken" moods, but we were able to get some good shots of Elliot!
We might try again before Halloween!

There are more pumpkin pictures in the October Snapfish folder :)

Emily in action!

Here are some shots of Emily in action! Wayne was putting out Halloween decorations this weekend and Emily took advantage of the great weather!

Elliot's little smirk ...

Elliot has the cutest little smirk ... you can just see the wheels turning in his head ... too bad we don't know what he's thinking yet!

Silly Emily Comment about Trina's CD!

This is still making me laugh this morning, so I thought I'd share!

Trina has been in the studio working on her CD. She picked up a rough draft last week and I stole Chris's copy - HA! It's amazing and you should all buy a copy when it's officially finished.

One of the songs is called "I Know" and is a duet with Chris. Emily was listening in the car and said "Mommy, I think Uncle Chris is singing part of this song because Aunt Trina forgot the words ...."

I thought about explaining to her that Trina wrote the words and wouldn't forget them, but I decided to let it go.

PS. The CD is going to be called Stand and did I mention it's amazing?

New kittens at MeMe and Paw Paw's

A sweet, sweet mama kitty has adopted MeMe and PawPaw.
She had three little babies in their back room this week.
Look how cute they are ...

I thought this was a cute picture (thanks for sending it mom!)

Update from the Texas Rice Festival

Last weekend was the Texas Rice Festival in Winnie.
It's an annual tradition of food, family, friends and fun!
Click here for all the pictures!

The food is fattening and yummy! This year I tried a couple of new things ... cheesecake on a stick (everything tastes better on a stick!) and this crabcake, rice, crawfish sauce yummy dish. I don't know what it was called, but I was so sad when they sold out.

It was hot, hot, hot and rained a bit, but we all had a great time!

Emily had a super time. She was able to ride many rides (some over and over and over again) and she beat Wayne at a carnival game. I think Wayne is still upset over the loss!! She did some crafts at Doodlebug, showed a longhorn in the Pee Wee show, tried to ride Bandit in the parade (he acted up) and convinced people to take a picture sitting on Cheyenne. She enjoyed watching people sing and dance. She is still talking about this cute little boy who sang a couple of songs on the big stage. "When I am older, can I sing on a stage ? .... " is her favorite new question.

Elliot was sooooo good. He took it all in and enjoyed making everyone laugh. He's such a happy happy baby! He liked sitting on Cheyenne and watching sister on the rides. Wayne carried him in the backpack carrier and Elliot just giggled and laughed (and drooled)

We had a GREAT time!

Why do babies need teeth anyway?

This week we are remembering how FUN life is when a tooth is trying to break through the gums!
Sweet Elliot is getting his first tooth and he is NOT happy about it at all!

He is gnawing on everything and not sleeping well (siiigh)
As soon as it's in a little bit more I'll post a picture for you all to enjoy!

Off to catch some zzzzz's (hopefully!)
