December already?!?!

I can NOT believe tomorrow is December! Where did this year go?!
This year I had BIG plans to finish all our shopping by October-ish so I could really enjoy the holiday season. Guess what - I'm not EVEN close ... siiiigh!
I am convinced December comes faster each year!!

We have taken a step in the right direction - Wayne pulled the decorations down from the attic tonight and we plan to go get a tree tomorrow! Maybe I'll remember to actually use our Christmas dishes before Christmas Eve this year!

I know, I know ... I still owe you all some Thanksgiving pictures - maybe I'll get to that this weekend!

Thanksgiving Update!

Wow, what a time! I ate too much, drank too much and talked too much (what else is new?)
It was great to see everyone and wish we could all get together more often!!

Wednesday we had some yummy gumbo over at Grandpa's with the McLarty's.
I don't think I've ever seen such a large pot of Gumbo!

Thursday started with 3 fried turkeys, 10 slabs of pork ribs with sides and desserts galore! There was sooo much food!
The only people missing from the feast were Terry, Eunice, Martin and Naomi.
Without them we did not get off our rears to take our traditional holiday walk. Now that I think about it, the only walking we did was to the kitchen to fill up our plates or glasses!

Friday we had yummy left overs and on Saturday mom made a tasty chili.

We played lots of board and video games, watched tons of football and did absolutely NO shopping. It was a great time. Emily enjoyed seeing all her cousins and thought it was pretty funny when she learned that not only does she have cousins who are close to her age (Hank, Noah, Jordan, Nathan and Caitlyn) but she also has old -sorry, couldn't think of another word here!- cousins (Amanda, Mike, Trent, Angela, Chris, Sarah, John, Jennifer, Pat, Emily, Chris, Trina).
It's going to really blow her mind when we explain that she has even MORE cousins on Wayne's side of the family - HA!

OK I haven't cropped the Thanksgiving pictures yet (or deleted ANY) but here they are!

Emily's trip to Sea World!

Emily visited Nana and Grandfather last weekend in San Antonio. They went to SeaWorld and she had a great time! Her favorites parts (according to her) were watching Shamu, riding rides and getting wet! I have a couple of really cute pictures to post, but my scanner is acting up! I will post them as soon as I can get the scanner working again.

Her least favortie part of the trip was Daddy forgetting to pack her PJs ... DRAMA!

Update - still haven't figured out what's up with the scanner, but here are some cute pictures that Nana took!

Prayers for Jack's recovery!

Please keep Jack (Trina's dad) in your prayers as he begins the recovery process.
He had a massive heart attack complete with a ruptured aortic artery on Monday.

Update - Jack passed away on Thanksgiving.
Please keep Trina and her family in your prayers as they pick up the pieces.

Kidney stones are BAD

I just wanted to let everyone know that kidney stones are bad .... very bad. I would rather be giving birth to my 10lb posterior baby again than waiting for this stone to pass......

Update 11/8
The evil creature has left my body. Little did I know a tiny little pebble (yes, it looked like a pebble) would cause so much trouble! I really felt like I was going to die for awhile there.
Thankfully Wayne's office let him off for the entire week as well.
Tip of the day - if you EVER have a kidney stone take your pain meds regularly ... don't think "Hey, I am strong, I can delay this dose" ... no ... you are NOT strong and you should NOT delay a dose!

Off to get out of my pjs and take a shower now!

Here are pictures from Halloween.
Elliot and Caitlyn were skunks (Elliot for about 10 minutes)
Emily was Jasmine

Kendall and Kara were Batman and Batgirl
Koryn was a cute kitty!

OH and Wayne was a nerd .. (fitting - HA) The funny thing is Emily told someone that her daddy dressed up as "handsome" - how cute!!!

The backs of the little skunks

Trying to get three kids to look at the camera - impossible!
This is the best we were able to get :) Wayne and Elliot

Getting Started
Caitlyn likes being a skunk!
Elliot is ready for "normal" clothes

The many faces of Emily (Halloween 2007)

Emily is such a little diva that she wore three costumes this Halloween season!
She was Snow White at JTs birthday party, she was Jasmine on Halloween night and a purple snow princess at her school fall festival!

She's a mess.

Little Stinkers

Caitlyn and Elliot were little skunks for Halloween.
Aren't they the cutest little stinkers you've ever seen??

I am sure we have some better pictures on the camera, but I was too lazy to look this morning.
I will probably replace this one soon (and will add one of Emily as Jasmine, but until then enjoy the little skunks!

Silent Auction gone wrong ...

Well, this weekend was Emily's school festival and we made the mistake of taking her with us to the silent auction area. The basket she HAD to have was a tub filled with princess stuff. We decided to humor her and bid on it ONCE thinking someone would outbid us by the end of the festival. Did they? Noooo! OOOOH well! At least it was for a good cause - HA!
I just hope she doesn't realize we took a few of the goodies out of the tub for Christmas and Birthday presents!

Sit N Spinning

Emily was showing Elliot how to use the Sit N Spin last night.
She loves to try to go "faster" everytime she spins!

Emily's pumpkin creation!

At our visit to the pumpkin patch Emily picked out a few pumpkins to paint.

Here she is hard at work!
Finished Pumpkin ... isn't he cute?

Cul-de-sac fun!

Trina brought Caitlyn over so she could run in the cul-de-sac!
It's so funny how different Elliot and Caitlyn are.
Caitlyn is ready to RUN and Elliot is content to sit back and take it all in.
They crack us up constantly!

Nana and Grandfather visit!

Emily and Elliot had a great time visiting with Nana and Grandfather last weekend!
Here are some fun pictures from their visit.

Pumpkin Patch Time!

The weather has been wonderful, so Friday afternoon we visited one of the local pumpkin patches.

Emily was in one of her famous "I don't want my picture taken" moods, but we were able to get some good shots of Elliot!
We might try again before Halloween!

There are more pumpkin pictures in the October Snapfish folder :)
